Member Profile – Meghan D-M

August's New England Tri Fit Member Profile spotlight is on Meghan D-M.  Meghan is proof that you don't have to come from an athletic background to be a triathlete. You just have to love the sport, train regardless of your speed, and have fun with it. Meghan has had so much fun doing it these last few years that she and her training partner became besties and she even raced in a relay while she was pregnant.      What is your Athletic Background? I honestly don’t have much...

Member Profile – Roy C.

June's New England Tri Fit Member Profile spotlight is on Roy C.  Roy is probably best known as "the bike guy", because that's exactly what he is to most of us. Not only is he one of our top sponsors, he's the one we take our babies to for tune-ups and fittings, builds brand new ones from scratch, answers all of our burning bike questions, trains with us, makes last minute tweaks on race morning, rescues us on the course, and, if you're really, really lucky, cooks for us.   What...

Member Profile – Justin L

May's New England Tri Fit Member Profile spotlight is on Justin L. If you don't already know who he is, you must be new to the club. He's our co-chair, membership director, and frequent ride leader. He also teaches spin and fitness classes at the Y and NRG Lab, helping us to become and stay strong for our endurance endeavors. Although he's taken a couple of years off of  racing triathlons, he's been filling that time with obstacle course training (himself and others) and racing. When he's not pu...

Member Profile – Jill M.

March's New England Tri Fit Member Profile spotlight is on Jill M; This is Jill’s second year with New England Tri Fit, but she’s certainly not new to endurance sports or triathlons. She’s one of our club members who swims at Ashland once the weather warms up, and swam there a lot last year in training for her first half Ironman (Atlantic City). This year she’s taking on the inaugural S.O.S. Cape Cod challenge, so we expect to see her doing some octect bricks (riding/running/swimming/running/swi...

Member Profile – Dawn

February's New England Tri Fit Member Profile spotlight is on Dawn. Dawn is one of our long-standing members. She's been a runner since she was two years old and can often be found doing it day or night, fair weather or foul, with her dad and/or a few running buddies. She represents the club well while racing in one of the several kits she owns, but she's also been known to race in a costume. If you couldn't tell already by that happy glow she's been wearing, she found the time between all that ...

Member Profile – Andrea

It's only fitting that our renewal of the monthly member profiles begins with Andrea. Andrea is one of New England Tri Fit's Founding Members, and before that held a leadership role in the club when it was affiliated with the Hockomock Y. Andrea is one of those people who always has a welcoming smile on her face and encouraging words on her lips, and its fun to learn a little more about her through January's Member Spotlight. What is your Athletic Background? I didn't play any sports in high ...

Member Profile – Bob

Bob can be spotted early most Thursday mornings at the track, but don’t blink, because he is a sure testament that speed work pays off, shaving a hefty amount of time off his 5k. Bob took home a 2nd place overall award at the Mansfield Run for the Cops while sporting his TriFit top; a sweet way to represent the club for certain. When you read that the Boston Marathon was Bob’s initiation back to fitness and that he has an affinity for brutal hill workouts, track repeats and Judas Priest, you’ll ...

Member Profile – Tracey

Tracey is a busy mother of three girls, former college athlete, and massage therapist. Since Tracey joined the club in January of 2014, she can be spotted at many club workouts, but always seems to find a way to take it up a notch. While most of us might drive to the lake, Tracey will bike there and back from her not so local home town of Raynham. Clearly Tracey doesn’t shy away from a challenge, having several half and two full marathons under her belt.  What is your Athletic Background? I p...
